How to Renew your Florida

Real Estate License

UPDATED MAY 2024

Before You Start

Whether you’re a sales associate or a broker, you need to renew your real estate license every two years. The renewal deadline is always either midnight on March 31 or midnight on September 3. If you do not renew by the deadline, you will be required to undergo all of the pre-licensing steps before you can act as an agent again.

Steps to renew your Florida Real Estate License

Click each step to view details.

Step 1. Complete your continuing education (CEU) requirements.

Sales associates and brokers must attend a specific number of hours of field-relevant courses every two years. These are known as CEUs, and the number you need depends on the type of license you’re holding.

Sales Associates: 45 hours
Brokers: 60 hours

Step 2. Create or log into an online Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) account.

You can create or access your existing Department of Business & Professional Regulation (DBPR) account here. You can view the DBPR’s official account setup instructions here.

Step 3. Link your current license to your account.

To access the DBPR’s online services, which include license renewals, applications, and license status tracking, you must link your current license to it.

View the DBPR’s official instructions on linking a license here.

Step 4. Use the DBPR's online portal to renew your license.

While logged in to your DBPR account, select the option to renew your license. Upload any required supporting documents, and pay your renewal fee.

Once you’ve completed those four steps, congratulations! Your license is valid for another two years.

You can access the DBPR’s official CEU course locator here.

WHAT STUDENTS ARE SAYING

★★★★★

I approved the Florida Real Estate Licensing Examination today! After attending the 63 hours course in person at this school three weeks ago, I have to say it was really helpful for me. If you ask, the instructors can provide you with real experiences about this business, as well they will guide you focusing on the topics to pass the state exam. I’m completely satisfied, so I highly recommend it!— HECTOR

★★★★★

Excellent school. Thorough instructors. The course adapted to areas we needed more help with. Highly recommend. — JESSICA

★★★★★

Mega Kudos to both instructors who are exceptionally talented and extremely patient real estate professionals. They both remained focused on covering all the material in the text book and, they used a variety of learning techniques, examples and after hours study sessions to help students correctly tackle and answer all potential exam questions (i.e., word and math). The Pepine Brokerage team also invited guest speakers to provide students with insights into various aspects of the real estate business. I was totally impressed with this school and appreciated the confidence which I gained after each day in class. For me, attending the North Central Florida Real Estate School was a five-star educational experience. It is 100% the best ‘bang for the buck’ for any individual who is committed to obtaining a Florida Real Estate Associate’s license. WENDY
